In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Master of Messengers, the Leader of the Enlightened, our Prophet Muhammad, and his family and companions.

With great support from His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the esteemed President of the University of Anbar, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Neda, and the esteemed University Council, we are pleased to announce, by the grace of Allah, the official launch of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center, which was established on December 17, 2024.

This center represents the first-of-its-kind initiative in our beloved country in the field of biomedical engineering—a long-held dream that, by the blessings of Allah, has now become a reality. We are committed to making the most of our university’s unwavering support to ensure the success of this endeavor, transforming it into a beacon of excellence that sets a precedent in integrating scientific research with practical applications in biomedical engineering.

The center comprises two main departments:

  • The Artificial Limbs Department
  • The  Systems and Biomedical Signals Department

Additionally, it includes an Administrative Division and a Scientific Division.

The Artificial Limbs Department primarily focuses on serving individuals with special needs, a vital segment of our society. We ask Allah Almighty to guide us in providing the necessary support to this group, ensuring they receive the Artificial limbs and assistive devices that enable them to lead independent and productive lives within the community.

Meanwhile, the  Systems and Biomedical Signals Department is dedicated to analyzing electrical signals generated by the human body, which play a crucial role in developing and applying smart prosthetics as well as contributing to the diagnosis of neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.

In conclusion, we extend a warm invitation to researchers, academics, and experts in the field of biomedical engineering and its applications to visit our center and explore the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities available for conducting groundbreaking research and developing innovative scientific ideas.

We pray to Allah, the Almighty, for success and prosperity for all academic institutions in our beloved country.
