Scientific Publication on AI-Based Skin Lesion Detection by the Medical Engineering Research Center – University of Anbar Dr. Hamed Radam, Lecturer at the Medical Engineering Research Center, University of Anbar, has successfully published a peer-reviewed research paper titled: “Real-Time Skin Lesion Detection: An Efficient Deep Learning Approach” in the local scientific journal Wasit Journal of Engineering Sciences. This research was conducted in collaboration with: • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi – Director of the Medical Engineering Research Center / University of Anbar • Prof. Dr. Youssef Al-Mashhadani • Researchers from University of Anbar • Researchers from University of Wasit and the American University in Cairo The study focuses on developing an intelligent system for real-time skin lesion detection using artificial intelligence and the latest YOLOv8 model in computer vision, relying on the ISIC global dataset to achieve highly accurate and early diagnosis performance. This achievement reflects the ongoing efforts of the Medical Engineering Research Center to promote applied scientific research and employ AI technologies in medical fields, enhancing innovation and raising the center’s scientific output.
