University of Anbar Delegation Showcases Cutting-Edge Biomedical Research at SHAPE 2025 International Conference

A scientific delegation from the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar, headed by Assistant Prof Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi, Director of the Center, and including Prof Dr. Yousif Al-Mashhadany, Dr. Muhannad Abdul-Salam Younis, and Dr. Sami Abduljabbar Al-Fahdawi, participated in the international conference following a special official invitation extended by Tishk International University to the University of Anbar. The delegation took part in the 2025 International Conference on: Synergizing Health, AI, and Pedagogical Excellence & Enterprise (SHAPE 2025). This participation was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and scientific collaboration between universities, promote the exchange of research expertise in the fields of health, artificial intelligence, educational development, and entrepreneurship, and enhance the quality of scientific research in accordance with international standards. Members of the delegation contributed by presenting specialized scientific research, including: Artificial Hand Force Estimation System Based on Electromyography Signals with Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithm, which focuses on the development of an intelligent system for estimating artificial hand force using electromyography (EMG) signals integrated with metaheuristic optimization algorithms to improve estimation accuracy and overall system performance. EEG-Based Classification of Human Limb Movements: A Comprehensive Performance Evaluation of KNN, LDA, Decision Tree, and Random Forest Models, which addresses the classification of human limb movements based on electroencephalography (EEG) signals through a comprehensive performance evaluation of several machine learning algorithms, including KNN, LDA, Decision Tree, and Random Forest. The conference also featured a keynote lecture entitled: High Performance of Artificial Limbs Based on Different Biosensors Signals, delivered by Prof Dr. Yousif Al-Mashhadany (SMIEEE), in which he highlighted recent advancements in high-performance artificial limb design based on various biosensor signals, with emphasis on both clinical and research applications. In addition, a case study presentation entitled: Converting a Patent into an Investment Project in Biomedical Engineering: A Case Study of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar, was presented by Prof Dr. Yousif Al-Mashhadany (SMIEEE). The presentation discussed practical mechanisms for transforming patents into viable investment projects within the field of biomedical engineering, showcasing the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar as a leading applied model. The delegation of the University of Anbar was warmly received by the President of Tishk International University, Professor Sultan Arabi, reflecting the strong academic ties between the two institutions and their shared commitment to expanding scientific cooperation and research exchange at both regional and international levels.
