Scientific Participation in the Exhibition of Inventions, Innovations, and Creativity in Erbil

Professor Dr. Youssef Al-Mashhadani, Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar, participated in the Exhibition of Inventions, Innovations, and Creativity (Nobel Prize for Innovations), held in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, from April 16 to 18, 2025. The exhibition was organized under the patronage of the Nobel Technical Institute, in collaboration with the College of Health Sciences at Hawler Medical University, and coordinated by the "Light Harvest Organization for Educational Development". Professor Al-Mashhadani represented the University of Anbar by presenting a patent titled "Control and Correction Unit for Foot Drop Patients." This patent is regarded as a significant scientific achievement, as it addresses a common medical condition that severely affects a patient’s ability to control ankle joint movement, thereby impairing normal walking and limiting the patient’s capacity to work and lead a normal life. During his presentation to the scientific committee supervising the exhibition, Dr. Al-Mashhadani showcased key research efforts and scientific investments related to the project, as well as ongoing research activities at the Biomedical Engineering Research Center in this field. At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Al-Mashhadani was awarded the Medal of Scientific Creativity and the Nobel Prize for Innovations Trophy in recognition of his outstanding scientific contribution. On the sidelines of the exhibition, he also met with Professor Dr. Hamdiya Mirkan Ahmed, Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Hawler Medical University, and Professor Dr. Faydhil Abdulrahman Daham, Dean of the Nobel Technical Institute. During these meetings, opportunities for joint research collaboration with the Biomedical Engineering Research Center were discussed, including the potential signing of scientific cooperation agreements in the near future.
