Specialized Workshop on Information Security and Data Protection in a Changing Digital World – University of Anbar

As part of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar’s ongoing efforts to enhance scientific and technical competencies among academic and research staff, and in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, a specialized workshop titled “Information Security: Protecting Data in a Changing Digital World” was organized under the direct supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi, Director of the Center for Biomedical Engineering Research. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Muhannad Abdul Salam Younis and held at the Center’s main hall. The workshop addressed the fundamental concepts of information security, methods of data protection, and strategies for countering cybersecurity threats in modern digital environments. It also reviewed advanced techniques and best practices in securing digital systems, managing cyber risks, and strengthening security awareness among users and technical personnel. This event aimed to empower participants with a deeper understanding of the growing challenges in the field of information security and to provide them with practical skills for safeguarding sensitive data and information within academic and research institutions. The organization of this workshop reflects the Center’s commitment to promoting a culture of cybersecurity and enhancing the capacity of researchers and engineers to address the rapid technological developments of the digital era.
