Specialized Scientific Workshop on AI Applications in Prosthetics at the University of Anbar

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Anbar, Prof. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi, the Biomedical Engineering Research Center organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled: “Transforming Brain Signals into Movements: Artificial Intelligence Applications in Prosthetics” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Hamed Raddam and held at the center’s hall, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and researchers from the university. The workshop addressed the latest advancements in transforming brain signals into actual movements using artificial intelligence techniques. It highlighted intelligent prosthetic systems that rely on neural signal analysis and their role in improving patients’ quality of life and restoring motor functions. Additionally, the workshop covered Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) technologies and their integration with machine learning algorithms to achieve accurate and rapid responses. The session witnessed active scientific engagement from attendees, featuring numerous questions and discussions that enriched the dialogue and enhanced practical understanding of this advanced field. This workshop comes as part of the center’s ongoing efforts to support scientific activities, develop researchers’ skills, and keep pace with the latest global developments in biomedical engineering and artificial intelligence, contributing to community service and the advancement of the healthcare sector.
