Biomedical Engineering Research Center The Biomedical Engineering Research Center is an academic and research institution specialized in advancing engineering applications in the medical and healthcare sectors. The center was established on December 17, 2024, and represents the first initiative of its kind in Iraq in the field of biomedical engineering. It aims to promote scientific research and technological development in biomedical engineering and support innovations that contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services. The center comprises two departments in addition to two divisions (Administrative and Scientific), working in an integrated manner to achieve its goals in developing medical technology and enhancing health services.

First: Scientific Departments

1. The Artificial Limbs Department: This department specializes in providing assistive solutions for individuals with limb loss or motor disabilities through the design, manufacturing, fitting, and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices. Its goal is to help patients regain mobility and enhance their quality of life. The department consists of the following five laboratories: Rehabilitation and Training Lab Prosthetics and Orthotics Assembly Lab Prosthetics and Orthotics Molding Lab Prosthetics and Orthotics Finishing and Carving Lab Prosthetics Development Lab

2. The Systems and Biomedical Signals Department: The Medical Signals and Systems Department is dedicated to the development and analysis of biomedical signals, as well as the design of smart systems and modern technologies used in diagnosis, health monitoring, and treatment. The department aims to support innovative research that improves healthcare through biomedical engineering applications. It comprises two laboratories: Biomedical Signal Measurement Lab 3D Printing Lab

Second: Administrative and Scientific Divisions

1. Administrative Affairs Division: This division is responsible for managing administrative operations and human resources, handling official procedures, records, correspondence, and all employee-related tasks such as attendance, leave, promotions, and transfers. Its goal is to ensure smooth workflow and provide an organized environment that supports the other departments. The division consists of four units: Administrative Unit Accounts Unit Public Relations Unit Inventory Unit

2. Scientific Affairs Division: The Scientific Affairs Division is responsible for coordinating and managing research and academic activities, promoting academic collaboration, overseeing scientific publishing, and continuously developing biomedical research efforts. It includes five units: Laboratory Unit Library Unit Quality Assurance Unit Media Unit Information Technology Unit
