As part of supporting scientific research activities and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among engineering fields, Lecturer Mohammed Hussein Mahmood, a member of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar, has successfully published a peer-reviewed scientific paper in an international journal. This achievement was realized under the direct guidance of the Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi, who continuously emphasizes the importance of collaborative research between colleges and research centers to enhance the university’s scientific productivity and strengthen its international academic presence. The research was published under the title: “Microstructural Refinement and Wear Properties of Al-Si Alloy Coatings Processed by Fast Multiple Rotation Rolling” in the international scientific journal Next Materials, published through the ScienceDirect platform, which specializes in advanced studies in materials science and engineering and modern industrial applications. The research team from the University of Anbar included: Wekar Mohammed Khalaf – Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Anbar Wisam Mohammed Salih – Department of Projects, University of Anbar Zinah Jumaah Ahmed – Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Anbar Mohammed Hussein Mahmood – Biomedical Engineering Research Center, University of Anbar The study investigated microstructural refinement and wear resistance properties of aluminum–silicon (Al-Si) alloy coatings processed using the fast multiple rotation rolling technique. The results demonstrated significant improvements in mechanical performance and wear resistance due to microstructural refinement, highlighting promising applications in advanced engineering industries requiring high-performance and wear-resistant materials. This publication reflects the outcomes of effective scientific collaboration between the Biomedical Engineering Research Center and engineering departments at the University of Anbar, and underscores the Center’s active role in supporting interdisciplinary research and encouraging high-quality scientific output that contributes to knowledge advancement and enhances the university’s academic standing internationally. This achievement aligns with the strategic vision of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center to expand research partnerships and increase publication in reputable international journals, in line with the University of Anbar’s commitment to academic and research excellence.
