**Ministerial Committee Visits the Biomedical Engineering Research Center Regarding the Approval of Its Establishment** A ministerial committee from Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited the Biomedical Engineering Research Center on **Thursday, 23 April 2026**, to follow up on the procedures related to the **formal approval of the center’s establishment**, as part of the Ministry’s plan to evaluate and support research centers. The committee included members from University of Mosul and Northern Technical University, **in addition to a representative from the Department of Research and Development at the Ministry’s headquarters**. The committee was received by Assistant Scientific Professor Dr. Wisam Hashim Khalil, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi, Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center. During the visit, the committee reviewed the center’s administrative procedures and the workflow within the **departments and units**, in addition to inspecting the research laboratories and scientific equipment, and assessing their readiness to support research and applied activities. The committee also listened to a detailed presentation delivered by the center’s administration, highlighting its key achievements, ongoing research activities, and future plans aimed at enhancing research performance and improving the quality of outputs. The committee confirmed that this visit is part of the Ministry’s efforts to evaluate the readiness of research centers and proceed with the official approval of their establishment in accordance with approved standards. At the conclusion of the visit, the committee praised the scientific and organizational level of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center and wished it continued success in advancing research and supporting the academic environment.
