 Workshop on The Effects and Symptoms of Internet Addiction in Society

In collaboration with the Biomedical Engineering Research Center, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – University of Anbar organized a scientific workshop titled "The Effects and Symptoms of Internet Addiction in Society" on Monday, February 25, 2025, at the Discussion Hall. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Labib Zwain Musayekh, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Waleed Khalid Hammadi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with a number of faculty members and students interested in the topic.

The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Wisam Saad Mohammed from the Biomedical Engineering Research Center and Assistant Lecturer Bilal Fawaz Hais from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The session covered several key topics, including:

·        Causes of Internet Addiction

·        Symptoms of Internet Addiction

·        Statistics on Internet Addiction

·        Effects of Internet Addiction

·        Treatment Methods for Internet Addiction

·        Prevention Strategies

The workshop featured engaging discussions and interactive participation, highlighting the negative impacts of Internet addiction on mental and social well-being. Additionally, it provided therapeutic and preventive strategies to address this growing phenomenon.

At the end of the session, an open discussion was held, allowing attendees to ask questions and share insights. The speakers emphasized the importance of community awareness in mitigating excessive Internet use and achieving a healthy balance between digital life and real-life interactions.
